a clover story.

I love making new friends. Especially when they have a child that is the same age as one of mine and they can play together. The other day, I went to the park with my new friend. We had a great time, she's my kind of person, and we seem to have a lot in common. While at the park, we were sitting in a field of clovers. She asked me if I had ever found a 4 leaf clover before, and I quickly responded, explaining to her that I have looked my whole life, but never found one. She quickly said, "me too!" About, oh, i don't know, 10 seconds later, I looked down, and saw one! Then Addison ran off so I ran after her. The next thing I knew, my friend came walking over and she had found one too! How cool is that? Well, she asked me if I wanted to keep mine...I didn't really think much of it, I think I was distracted with Addison running everywhere so I said no. A few days later, I regretted not keeping my first 4 leaf clover.

Fast Forward to a week later. I walked out on my back deck to water my flowers, and no lie, there was a 4 leaf clover just sitting on my deck. Seriously? It was so weird. I had told Marc about our clover story, so I was sure he had found one and left it for me to find. He swears up and down he didn't. I believe him. To make things even stranger, after I came back inside my friend texted me to see if we wanted to get together. You may think I'm looking into things too much, but I think it was the weirdest, coolest thing ever. I had to snap a photo of it, and this time...I kept it :)

Happy Friday!

fearless - personal

If anyone knows my Amelia, they know she is absolutely obsessed with Taylor Swift. Last year, she had the privlege of going to her first concert. I wasn't really able to take her (I was still nursing Addison, and since she refused to take a bottle I needed to stay home) so my mom took her, and they had a blast.

So not long after Taylor's 2009 tour was over, she announced she was extending her show and right away, my sister purchased tickets. For MONTHS, Amelia has been looking forward to seeing Taylor perform again, and on Wednesday night her long wait was over! This time, I really wanted to go with Amelia. I'm not a big Swift fan, and honestly, the idea of a bunch of screaming teenage girls (all dressed in dresses with cowboy boots) didn't really sound fun to me, but I knew getting to do something that my Amelia loves would be priceless. And priceless it was. When I saw Amelia's face when Taylor first came out, I was so excited for her I teared up a little. I know, it sounds dumb. But I couldn't help it. Seeing your child SO happy is just the best feeling in the world.

Before showing a few pictures, I just have to say that I wish I had taken my (good) camera. I took my old p&s that I gave to Amelia, and I am ashamed to say I had trouble working it! I am just so use to my DSLR that the pictures I took aren't the best (not to mention I was being pushed and elbowed by crazed fans and holding onto my girl, protecting her for dear life. I even had to get a tad bit nasty with some teeny bopper boys, what mom wouldn't?) ;) Anyway, our seats were right after the floor seats, and in the middle of her performance, Taylor comes out in the crowd to perform some songs. Well, she was RIGHT in FRONT of us. When she was making her way to the stage, she walked right in front of where Amelia and I were smushed up against the gate, and Amelia came SO, SO close to touching her hand. It was pretty cool. And I gotta give it to the girl, she put on one hell of a show. So while she may get on my nerves a little, I would definately see her in concert again. Here are a few images from me and Amelia's special night out together!

jackson - newborn session

About a month ago, I was going to take some maternity pictures for Lauren. We kept trying to settle on a date that would work for both of us, but it just wasn't happening! Then, we finally decided on a weekend to hold our session together. I was so excited...then Lauren suddenly found out she needed to be on bedrest. Thankfully, everything turned out fine, and although we didn't get some photos of her adorable pregnant belly, we got some of her new little love, Jackson. He is beyond adorable, and Lauren and Matt have adjusted really well to their new little boy! They are the cutest little family...

love the new baby "peach fuzz" on his back and shoulders!

sweet.

Congratulations Lauren and Matt! Jackson is so perfect!!

50 years young - personal

On April 3rd, my beautiful mama celebrated her 50th birthday. We held a little suprise party for her at Iron Bridge in Old Town, Warrenton. It was a lovely get together.....

This was Addison saying "pwise!!!!!!'' (surprise)

...to 50 more years! :)

Mom, I love you so, so much. You have been there for me through it all, and I know it hasn't always been easy ;) You are an amazing woman, mother, "muv", and friend. Thank you. For everything.

(check back soon for some fun sessions!)

just because - personal

my allergies have been SO bad. i haven't really been able to go outside for more than 5 minutes for the past week or two. but they didn't stop me from going outside the other evening to play with my new lens and chase after addison. (they did catch up with me later that night though :( )

she is obsessed with amelia's bike helmet...i think it's just because of the buckle though. (the girl loves to unbuckle, buckle, unbuckle, buckle....)

"codor!!!!" (addison's way of saying color)

 :)
